You’re in the middle of your third month now — and for many moms, this week brings an emotional and memorable moment: hearing your baby’s heartbeat for the first time. It often sounds like strong, rapid knocking — reassuring and unforgettable.
Although nausea and vomiting may still be lingering, they’re likely beginning to fade. At this stage, your appetite might still be low, mostly due to stomach discomfort. Just try to eat small, frequent meals to keep your energy up.
Another common symptom this week is constipation, often caused by pregnancy hormones or iron supplements. Be sure to drink plenty of water, eat fiber-rich foods, and don’t hesitate to mention it to your doctor.
Your baby is now stretching and kicking — but you won’t feel it yet, as he’s still too tiny and surrounded by plenty of amniotic fluid.
At this stage, he’s about the size of a fig and getting ready for a big growth spurt.
