Week 20 Pregnancy- Baby Size of A Banana

You’re still going through the fun, safe, break period of pregnancy, where you neither suffer nausea nor heavy weight and big belly and hinders your light movement, so enjoy and make the best out of this phase of your pregnancy journey.

Some physical changes are certainly impacting your pregnant body, let them be visible or not. You’re obviously gaining weight, for your baby is now growing much much more than before. However you might not feel much change in the size of your belly, depending on your level of fitness and whether this is your first pregnancy or not. First- time pregnancy moms are much luckier having smaller bellies as their tummies’ muscles are still tough and strong to hold the weight without showing much of it.

You’re baby now is about 16 cm, about the size of a good banana. You may have already started feeling his gentle kicks from time to time. Real and stronger kicks are expected towards the 23rd or the 24th week and onward.

Night sleep is becoming less comfortable with a lot of interruptions, not just for the toilette visits but also because of trying hard to find a comfortable and relaxing sleeping position. You may as well feel that your breathing during your sleep is becoming louder, even if you’re not really snoring.

Getting out of bed is becoming also harder during to a notable change in your body, still whether you can see it or or not. Also your point of gravity is taking a different position.

Beware of cramps in muscles and bones, especially your hands and legs, which are quite popular among pregnant ladies.

You also wake up feeling clear pain in your palms, which sometimes turn numb. This is due to lower rate of vitamin B. Consult your doctor about that and ask him or her to write down a helpful prescription for you.

Start finalising post-pregnancy plans that need more physical fitness, which is a luxury you now enjoy, before you grow heavier and less balanced …

This is a real fun phase of pregnancy, so make the best of it!
