Week 35 Pregnancy

By now your chances for having normal vaginal childbirth will be predicted, for how your uterus and baby are acting will decide, largely on how the labor day will be. Your baby should by now turn head down, however this might be, in some cases, delayed till the last week or two.

Also your uterus is expected to have already started contracting and relaxing, even if it’s just fake labor signs, you still need to take them seriously and avoid long walks and standing.

Swelling is at its peak, so try to sit while raising your feet on a coffee table or a small chair.

You might be concerned about chances of having preterm labor. While this is a justified concern, there’s no need to over worry, for in most cases babies who arrive between the 34th and the 37th week, end up well, they might just need to be put in neonatal nursery for a while till they before ready to go to the outer world of adults.

Heartburns and fatiguness are back to haunt you. Try to take as much rest as you can and eat small portions. You’re 4 weeks away from labor if not less, which means you still have a chance to watch your weight and set a weight target before you get into labor.

By now you should have your birth plan fully outlined and written down clearly.

Communicate it well with your partner and make sure there’s no room for misunderstanding. The last thing you want on your labor day is unpleasant or unexpected surprises!
